Recently, our industrial design team had been approached by an organisation (PLUG) for our eccentric touch in inducing design values into a product. The deliverable of the project was to design a Cricket Backpack with set requirements, sleek storage compartments, QAPs (Quick Access Ports/Pockets) and an envisioned body design.
We analysed the design style required by the client, the major access ports that needed to be encompassed into the design and a detailed sectional view of the internal compartments for the understanding of the client.
We dedicated ourselves over a period of one-week to rapidly iterate 3 distinct body designs. Each designs flowed through a set process:
Sectional Views (Compartments)
After careful consideration of the number of compartments, space distribution and the exterior body shape; a surface model was generated for each concept and the models were then showcased to the client through the Sketchfab tool. One design was selected instantly and taken forward for the intricate modelling of the internal framework .
Once the design model was selected, we generated the model over the software to the exact dimensions required by the compartments and fulfilled the essentials of the product. This included:
- Trolley Handle
- Back Cushioning
- Rain Cover
- Shoulder Straps
Avian has designed a disruptive product for us. Their design thinking is really impressive and their fantastic work ethic needs a special mention. We sincerely thank them for their wonderful work and would definitely want to collaborate for future projects.
